In plain language¶
Synthetic data
Everything on this site runs on generated patients. No real person's record is involved.
You can already log in to your hospital's portal and see your own lab results, medications and visit notes. What you usually cannot do is understand them.
This system reads your record and explains it in ordinary language, with a link to a public, government-run health information page for every clinical statement it makes — so you can check it yourself rather than take its word.
It is also built to stop. Three kinds of question get a different response instead of an answer:
- "Should I change my medication?" — it will not answer. It routes you to the person who can.
- "Do I have this disease?" — it will not answer. It can tell you what your record says; it cannot tell you what it means for your diagnosis.
- "I have crushing chest pain." — it stops immediately and tells you to seek emergency care. It does not look at your record first and it does not try to be clever.
The interesting engineering is not in the answers. It is in the stopping.
